MEASURE IMPACT

The Maui Nui Makai Network has achieved great things since our beginnings in 2013 as the first community-based marine conservation network in Maui Nui. The Network is a reminder that each group working hard in their own communities is creating big changes collectively. Together, we collect and share 'ike and mana'o, coordinate advocacy and education efforts, and use time and resources more efficiently.

Common Measures

It is important for the Maui Nui Makai Network and its members to have the ability to track a common set of measures to know if their efforts are working and to inform the adjustments needed in management if the actions aren’t effective. These indicators were co-generated and designed to be relatively easy to collect, be meaningful at the community-level, and take into account human interactions with nature for improved biocultural and human wellbeing outcomes.
